Boyride has a knack for finding very natural 19-23 year-old skater and surfer guys with cool tats, some facial hair, and a bit of a thing for toys and ass play. Or going to the help section and finding that the text is in white on a white background (and therefore invisible). Or getting a list of "Related Models" that seems not be related at all. The Boyride designers are obviously not adequately testing "improvements" on multiple browsers and platforms before going live, which is a real pity because the content is so good.

Boyride's tour starts off with a section that's called: "The 411 on Boyride.com." This tells you about the history of the site, and about the quality of the videos and images. Lower down on the homepage, you'll find buttons for a few explicit preview clips. Or click "View Guys" and you'll be able to access the complete episode index, which is conveniently cross-referenced with the model index. Together, these options provide a comprehensive look at the guys, and the scenes they appear in.

Navigating Boyride is straightforward enough. Once you're a member, just click on "View Guys" for a complete episode index featuring all of the approximately 145 videos, combined with approximately 125 image galleries. On each individual episode page you'll also find links to "Additional Scenes" that include the particular model.

Where does Boyride find them? These alternative dudes are off-the-hook sexy and the videographer excels at making them comfortable. On the surface they're all about the 'bro culture, knit caps, scruffs of facial hair and rad tats. Video options have changed quite a bit since our last review. Video will stream in Flash format or download in Windows Media format at up to 1,500 kbps, playing in a 640x480 window. The videos are all full-length, no clips (they used to be all clips with no full-length option). The vids are also available for download in MP4 format, playable on iPods. There is no DRM on the video.

The videos play with excellent clarity in the default window size and still look good in full screen mode. They are fully lit without being too bright, and the sound recording captures the live moans and groans. The shooting style is to move around the guys with a single hand-held camera -- whether they are in solo or group sessions -- so we do see a good variety of angles and close-ups, and most of the cumshots are caught. The single cam method works well with Boyride; though you may not get all the angles of a multi-camera shoot, the amateur feel actually adds to the heat.

The quality of the images on Boyride is very good throughout, the thumbs open to crisp, medium-sized images. But there is no slideshow option.

Summing Up
Boyride stands out as one of hottest showcases in gay porn for alternative young men of the surfer / boarder genre. If the design were more user-friendly, we'd recommend it wholeheartedly.
