Maximo Latino is a treasure trove of hot guys from numerous countries, spanning Central and South America, the Caribbean, Mexico and Spain. There is a huge number of stunning, young men in these countries and so few have been in porn. This classic site has been around for ten years, but only since February 2009 has it had high quality videos filmed in HD. Prior to that the videos are much smaller in default size. And the clunky, old-school site design -- don't get us started! All that aside, this is a rare opportunity to enjoy solo and duo performances from hot amateur Latinos.
Tour
This year Maximo Latino boasts a re-designed and improved tour. With over five pages and 20 explicit preview clips accompanied by sample image galleries, you'll get a pretty accurate idea of the quality of recent videos. You can even download and save preview clips in HD. But it's still far from a mirror of all the content inside the site and the cheap monthly rate that is advertised is only if you sign up for a year.
Usability
Maximo Latino's navigation is bare-bones. Updates are listed on the members' homepage only by the models' names, and separated from one another with basic month and year headings: there are no action categories, thumbnails, descriptions or search menus. When you select a monthly heading you'll be taken to a single thumbnail pic and breathless summary of each scene, but that's it. Counter-intuitive navigational links means lots of clicking on your browser's "Back" button. Maximo Latino has some great content; they'd do well to make it easier for members to find and enjoy these hot videos.
The Men and the Action
The stunning college age amateurs that populate the site are from no less than eleven different Central and South American countries, and from Spain and Italy. Maximo Latino's webmaster has a terrific eye for young masculine looking guys who don't even have to try to look sexy for the camera. You'll find a few muscle studs but its not a Papi site. There are many solo performances and a smaller number of hardcore scenes. The majority are shot indoors and the action is pretty straightforward, with solo jerking, sucking and fucking and a few toys. There are entertaining text descriptions of the episode and brief interviews with the new guys.
The 25% of videos added since February 2009 are excellent quality, but videos previous to this are small and average quality. The videos are competently shot with just one camera and there is a good range of medium and close-up shots. The cumshots are almost always caught.
Video Details
Maximo Latino now has more than 470 scenes with an average length of 25 minutes. A new DRM-free video and image gallery is added to the site on a weekly basis, and this schedule has been kept up religiously for many years.
Videos filmed in high-def make up the most recent 25% of the updates. These will stream in Quicktime (MOV) format in a 960x540 window and are divided into several clips, with no full-length option. They can also be downloaded in Windows Media or Quicktime formats, playing with a bitrate of over 2,500 kbps, in an HD-sized 1280x720 px window.
The 75% of the vids that weren't shot in high-definition are available to stream or download in Quicktime format only. They have speeds ranging from 400-500 kbps and play in a small 320x240 window, which can be dragged open to a larger size. These are all divided into clips which are downloaded as a zip file, an inconvenient step.
Mac note: Quicktime files make downloading and replaying Maximo Latino's content on Mac platforms seamless.
Mobile note: Most of the site's newer videos are available as downloadable MP4 files which can be downloaded and synced via iTunes for play on the iPod and iPhone.
Image and Other Content
Every video on Maximo Latino is accompanied by a large gallery of high-quality still images. In fact, some of the site's very early updates (from 2002) are photo-only posts. The gallery images aren't available as zip files, but navigational buttons atop the pop-up windows do make viewing relatively easy. However, a slideshow function would make the galleries more enjoyable to view.
Subscribers also receive access to over thirty video plug-ins and a ton of bonus full length DVDs. As well, full access to sister site Cruiser Boys is included.
Summing Up
If you love hot young Latin guys in solo, duo and group action and you can overlook some issues with navigation and take the older videos for what they are, then the well stocked Maximo Latino is worth checking out.
