Gays at CPAC not that hard to find

CPAC (the Conservative Political Action Conference) took place this past week. It's where the extremely right-wing - like Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz and Rick Santorum - gather to talk about all the things they hate. (Like gay marriage, gay rights, Obama and liberals.)

Reason TV headed to the convention to look for gay people and get their take on being conservative and queer. The tool of choice: Grindr.

"For conservatives if they are going to be able to win an election, they are going to need to get younger voters," said one 19-year-old gay man. "And to do that they need to be more socially liberal. Essentially, they need to shift libertarian."

The sentiment is in step with a June 2014 Reason-Rupe poll of millennials that found 53 percent of millennials would support a presidential candidate who was both socially liberal and fiscally conservative.
