DC Comics planning tribute to Orlando victims

DC comics gay edition

In a tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting in June, DC Comics has announced the release of a special comic book to help those wounded.

The company announced it would work with IDW Publishing to create a 144-page comic to support the families and victims of the attack on Orlando’s LGBT nightclub Pulse.

Love Is Love was suggested by writer Marc Andreyko and will include 100 stories lasting no longer than a page or two.

“I purposely said it would be a one-page thing to get people to commit," Andreyko said. “I’m a child of the 80s; I grew up with 'We Are the World' and 'Live Aid.' Events like this shouldn’t be compartmentalised, they should hurt and we should want to change for the better.”

Love Is Love will sell for $9.99 with proceeds benefitting Equality Florida and their fund for those affected by the shooting. It will be released in December.
