Channing Tatum does SNL
This past weekend, the very sexy Channing Tatum hosted Saturday Night Live, and of course he got a chance to promote his upcoming stripper movie, Magic Mike.
Tatum actually has a very real background as a male exotic dancer, and it was his personal experience that became the fodder for the movie, not to mention the entire episode of SNL.
“We were sitting over a beer and I told [Steven Soderbergh] that I was a stripper for eight months when I was nineteen,” Tatum said. “And he said that would be a great movie. And I said, ‘well I want to make a movie out of it.’ And he said, ‘you should write it.’
"Cut to three or four months later, I read an interview where he said that he would be willing to direct. I called him up and said, ‘how much bullshit is in this article?’ He was like, ‘I’m as serious as a bone spur, we should sit down.’ And we sat down…at Carney’s over a hot dog ironically enough. And we decided to do it.”

With movie awards being handed out left, right and center, there has been much ado about the friendly rivalry between George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
Both men have been nominated for several awards for their performances in 2011; Clooney for his role in Descendants and Pitt for his role in Moneyball.
Could you go 29 years without sex? Tim Gunn has
When Project Runway star Tim Gunn revealed Tuesday on ABC’s daytime talk show The Revolution that he hasn’t had sex in 29 years, our mouths dropped. That is one helluva dry spell.
“I haven’t had sex in 29 years,” he said. “Do I feel like less of a person for it? No. Not even remotely.”
The 58-year-old said his decision was for "very personal” reasons, following an “intense” and psychologically damaging relationship. “My partner ended it, saying that, quite frankly, he was impatient with my sexual performance,” he said.
He also admitted that at the time, when AIDS cases were just starting to appear, it was easier to make the decision. “I think a lot of people simply retreated because they were concerned about their health. I certainly was,” he admitted. “And I’m happy to be healthy and alive, quite frankly.”
But all dry spells come to an end. And Gunn, for one, is ready for romance.
”I have feelings,” he said. “It’s not as though I’m some barren forest. I don’t want to imply to anyone that I have a mandate that says no sex. I don’t. I don’t know what’s around the corner.”
And we thought going a weekend without sex was difficult.

David Furnish apologizes ... well, kind of ...
David Furnish seemed a little dumbstruck that his previous Facebook rant about Madonna's win at the Golden Globe Awards (over his hubby, Elton John) got so much attention.
He's just a passionate guy, people! And, let's face it, he's deathly afraid Madonna will kick his ass next time she sees him.
James Franco goes gay ... again
Once again, James Franco (inset) is going gay for an upcoming movie. He has been cast as famed queer photographer, Robert Mapplethorpe.
The biopic, named Mapplethorpe, focuses on his work as part of the New York art scene and his sexually explicit photography. The film is being produced by Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku, with Nate Dushku and Miles Levy.
Mapplethorpe died of AIDS in 1989 at the age of 42, leading to the establishment of the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, which promotes his work and funds HIV research.
This is just the latest role in Franco's portfolio involving a gay character. He played Harvey Milk's lover in Milk, and beat poet Allen Ginsberg in Howl. He also produced the short documentary, Endless Idaho, looking at Gus Van Sant's gay-themed movie My Own Private Idaho; and wrote and directed The Broken Tower, a 90-minute docudrama about gay poet Hart Crane, who committed suicide by jumping off the steamship SS Orizaba.
Franco, for the record, is straight. Uhm, okay.
Elton: I want Timberlake to play me in biopic
During a recent interview with the LA Times, pop singer Elton John said that a biopic of his life was in the works and that, if he had his way, Justin Timberlake would play the lead role.
The movie would not be a factual retelling of Elton's life. Instead it would be a “surreal look at my life, and not just a factual look at my life, more in the manner of a Moulin Rouge,” he explained.
When asked for his personal choices to play him, Elton said, “I’ve got a wish list of people. Number one on my wishlist is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of 'Rocket Man' and he was superb.”
The movie is only in its initial stages and no actors have been cast. “We have a director on board, and then it’s just going to be a matter of getting the script exactly the way we want it. Lee Hall has written a script – he wrote Billy Elliot – and then we’ll start trying to cast and plan.”
Elton added: “As Elton John, my days on pop radio are over, and I know that and I accept it and I’m not unhappy about it. It’s a different time of my life now, and it gives me the freedom to do whatever kind of music I want to do."
No, Taylor Lautner is not coming out
Last weekend, the cover for next month's People Magazine was released. It featured Twilight hottie Taylor Lautner on the cover, with the headline: "Tired of rumours, the Twilight star opens up about his decision to finally come out."
Many suspected it was a fake, but we're sure some people got swept up in the dream of one day bedding the young hunk. Heck, even some celebs were tricked.
Def Jam's Russell Simmons congratulated Lautner before learning it was a scam.
He later tweeted: "Disappointed that people would joke about someone coming out about their sexuality. Let Taylor Lautner be whoever he wants to be."
"The cover in question is 100 percent fake. This began as a ridiculous Twitter joke that went viral," People Magazine spokeswoman Julie Farin confirmed.
The good news: if he does come out, People Magazine won't have to create a new cover.

Starting in January, 19-year-old Nick Jonas will play J. Pierrepont Finch in Broadway's "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." The poster was released yesterday and we must say Nick is looking fine. The role is currently being played by equally cute Daniel Radcliffe. Now if only Nick would take on Daniel's "Equus" character ...
Guess who's getting married?
The bad boy of figure skating is now engaged. Johnny Weir made the announcement in October through Twitter, saying that his boyfriend had proposed and he said yes. He later deleted the tweet making some wonder if the relationship was on or off.
Well, not to worry; Weir has referenced his engagement several times since.
“Up too late missing my Husband… I want everyone to be as happy as I am sometime in their lives,” he tweeted a few weeks ago. Then in an interview, he said, “My boyfriend, my fiance now, has only recently come out and he’s 28 years old and it’s been an uncomfortable, [rocky] road for him. We’re in a typical relationship that you would see on a sitcom, only we’re two gay men.”

Do you wanna see Shaun White naked?
Olympic gold medalist Shaun White is facing a bit of an embarrassing scandal.
According to TMZ, the snowboarder had some pictures taken of him a few years ago. He's naked in the pics, getting friendly with a female friend, and is surrounded by fully clothed party-goers.
TMZ reported that friends at the party went around asking people to delete the images, but apparently someone didn't.
Sadly, for White, someone is now trying to sell the pics. Also sadly, for White, no one seems interested.
Rita Hayworth's gay grandson found dead
Andrew Ali Aga Khan Embiricos was found dead this past weekend in what authorities are calling a suicide. He was discovered on his bed with a plastic bag over his head.
The 25-year-old was the grandson of Rita Hayworth. He was also part of the Aga Khan blood line, and considered a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad.
In 2007 it was revealed that he was also a bit of an amateur pornographer, directing and starring in a few videos he released on XTube under the name Andrew Sauston. He experimented with bareback sex in one scene called “Chelsea Bareback Whores.”
Embiricos was "a strikingly handsome, personable guy who radiated charm no matter what crisis he was weathering,” wrote Village Voice gossip columnist Michael Musto, who knew him from the New York night-life scene.
Musto added that Embiricos had been battling HIV, had been in and out of drug rehab and had attempted suicide before.
Some have questioned the suicide, suggesting he could have been experimenting with autoerotic asphyxiation. Others have wondered if he could have been murdered, with more conservative family members tyring to silence an obvious squeaky wheel.
"Whatever the case, I'm deeply saddened by the loss of someone with such radioactive charisma," Musto wrote.
