The Village People's cowboy is one hot daddy

Jim Newman has been getting people to groove for years, in his role as the latest cowboy from the ever-changing roster of the Village People.

He joined the group when he was 48, taking over from Jeff Olson, who had been wearing the cowboy hat in the Village People since 1980. Newman, a Broadway actor, was a shoe-in for his new role.

But when shows were cancelled due to Covid, Newman decided to take a break and really get away from it all. He escaped to Sao Paulo with his fiance.

"My fiance is Brazilian. We came down here because we didn’t have any choice," he explained. "Broadway shut down, so I had no work anyway. And then they put a travel ban against Brazil to America.  Otherwise, we would have been separated, so I came down here. I’m allowed to stay 6 months a year and that’s it. I’d rather be in lockdown with the person I love than by myself in New York."

He also joined OnlyFans, but don't expect to see anything naughty.

"It’s been a crazy year. I’ve opened an OnlyFans. It’s not porn, just me singing songs and dancing around in my underwear. But everyone is like, ‘Jim’s gone over to porn.’ No, no, no, it’s not porn. It’s just what actors have had to do. We’ve got to hustle. We all have rent and need food."
