"King Cobra" star admits he doesn't care for clothing

Garrett Clayton is as versatile as they come ... as far as acting is concerned.

The 25-year-old is currently promoting King Cobra, the true life story of a porn producer's murder by two rivals competing for the same model (porn star Brent Corrigan). Clayton plays Corrigan in the film.

The character is gay, an adult model and, yes, spends a lot of time having sex. That's quite the stretch from Clayton's early days as a Disney Channel star. And his next role, as Link Larkin in NBC's Hairspray, is equally vanilla.

But when it came to stripping down for his King Cobra role, Clayton was not concerned.

"I like to be as naked as possible," he revealed. "If friends come over, I’ll just have on basketball shorts with no socks, no shirt, and maybe underwear. I hate clothes." (He has such lucky friends!)

He added: "The makeup artist is painting my ass, and the AD is like, 'We’re losing light!' And I’m like, 'This is gonna project about 40 feet high, and I’m gonna see it for the rest of my life. So let’s get it right.'"

One thing Clayton is not ready to expose is his sexuality. He said he likes to keep a veil on his personal life.

"I don’t really like talking about my personal life," he explained. "I’ve been very lucky this year. I haven’t been brought down because people are focused on who I’m dating, what I’m eating, or what handbag is the best handbag -- that’s so cheap to me. But if others want to open up about their personal lives, that is their choice. It’s not for me to judge."
