Professional troll banned from furry convention

MiloIt seems that no one wants to hang out with formerly successful right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos.

He's been kicked off of Twitter and banned on Facebook. He was fired from Breitbart and has had several of his speaking engagements canceled. Australia has even refused to let him enter the country.

And now the furry community -- people who dress up in mascot-style outfits, sometimes with a sexual undertone -- has said he is not welcome at an upcoming convention.

Yiannopoulos recently announced his new “fursona” as a snow leopard. He then shared he was attending the Midwest FurFest. Hoping not to miss an opportunity to be his hateful, right-wing self, he even suggested he be allowed to host a panel called "The Politics of Fur".

It didn't take long for people to start complaining, forcing organizers at Midwest FurFest to put out a statement on Twitter: “We have received a number of mentions and support tickets today -- we assure all attendees that your safety is of the utmost importance and is not being ignored. We are investigating all concerns being relayed to us.”

A few hours later, the convention released a larger statement:
"Hate is not welcome at Midwest FurFest. We are dedicated to providing a safe, harassment-free convention experience for all, regardless of age, race, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, or personal beliefs. Midwest FurFest can confirm that Mr. Yiannopoulos has registered for the event this year. While the convention generally does not comment on anyone’s registration status, Mr. Yiannopoulos has already stated as much publicly.”
His registration was rescinded, but Yiannopoulos promised “I’m going anyway."

Wow, this guy cannot take a hint. When the furries don't want you -- even when you're hidden under several layers of fun fur -- then maybe it's time to take a hard look at your life!
