Mark Ronson sorry for coming out as "sapiosexual"

Mark RonsonMost of us have never heard the word "sapiosexual" until Mark Ronson, the Grammy Award-winning writer and producer behind hits like Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" and Amy Winehouse's "Rehab", declared himself one.

He was being interviewed on Good Morning Britain earlier this month and stated that “I feel like I am identifying as sapiosexual.”

Sapiosexual? No, it's not someone attracted to sap. The term is used for people who find themselves attracted to intelligence over appearance or gender.

Ronson, though, normally identifies as a straight male, so there were many who took issue with him "coming out" as if he was somehow from a marginalized community.

“I do not consider myself part of any marginalised community and I apologise if anybody misunderstood or took offence to it,” he told Rolling Stone yesterday.

He said that when a Good Morning Britain host told him about the term he replied that “[the term] sounds great. Of course, who wouldn’t be?”

He added: “And they were basically like, ‘OK, Mark Ronson identifies himself as sapiosexual, that’s great’. And I was like, ‘Oh, okay’, and that was it.

“Then I got back to the hotel about two hours later and I saw this thing that said, ‘Mark Ronson outs himself as sapiosexual’. It sounds like I went on a TV show to be like, ‘Guys, I have some big news!' And the fact that I would go on and sort of declare myself -- like as a heterosexual white male -- part of any marginalised community was terrifying to me, or just embarrassing.”

So even if you guys have massive IQs, Ronson still doesn't want to see your cock pics!
