Sexy Santas spread Christmas cheer

Every year, days before Christmas, dozens of Santas descend upon Boston. These Santas, however, aren't your typical Saint Nicks. In fact, they're more like Saint Dicks, their costumes consisting entirely of a hat, a beard and the most festive of all holiday attire: a Speedo.

The annual Santa Speedo Run dates back to 1999 when Seth Frye and four of his friends decided to do something crazy. Taking a page from the streaker manual, they hastily jumped out of a car, their packages wrapped tightly in spandex, for a run up Newbury Street. The crowds along their route went wild, and a holiday tradition was born.

Today, the one-mile run does more than delight the eyes of circumstantial passers-by; it also raises money for charity. This year's run, held last Saturday, raised money for the Ellie Fund, which benefits Massachusetts women with breast cancer and their families.



From the look of photos on exhibition at Towleroad, the run gave onlookers plenty of eye-candy this year, particularly in the sugarplum department.
