One tumble too many

For three years, 22-year-old Josh Weast of O'Fallon, Ill., has used the gymnasium at a local Catholic high school to teach children to tumble. He was recently banned from the gym, however, when school officials learned he'd been doing somersaults of a different sort -- the kind that involve sex with other men on camera.

That's right, Weast has performed in gay porn -- not the sort of thing that usually leaks out into the "real" world. The tumbling coach -- sources tell us his nom de porn is Andrew Bryant ("Cross Country") -- was not an employee of Mater Dei Catholic High School in Breese, Ill., but he did regularly use the school gym to host his class of approximately 40 boys and girls.

Weast told the Associated Press he regrets making the videos, but says that he needed the money and that his private life should have no bearing on his coaching abilities.

School officials had no comment, but state human rights organization Equality Illinois did.

"Our religious institutions have special rights and special privileges," said Rick Garcia, director of public policy for Equality Illinois. "They pretty much have free rein to do whatever they want."

One has to wonder who turned Weast in. One of the devout employees of those "religious institutions" perhaps? No Father, "Cross Country" is not a Crucifiction flick!
