Dummy lover could get life

A Detroit man with an uncontrollable urge to smash store windows and run off with female  mannequins could end up in prison -- for life. The potential life sentence that Ronald A. Dotson faces is because prosecutors charged him as a "habitual offender." He has six convictions for breaking and entering and has seen the inside of a prison before.

Dotson was arrested in October after police say he smashed a window at a cleaning-supply company to get at a female mannequin dressed in a black and white French maid's uniform. He had only been released from prison the week before.

Back in 2000 Dotson was convicted for breaking and entering at a women's clothing shop to get at a mannequin in a pink dress and bobbed hair. Previously he has been arrested when police   found him in an alley behind a woman's store with three mannequins in underwear.

It is unclear from press reports whether Dotson's fetish is just sexy mannequins or if the act of stealing them is an integral aspect of the turn-on. In either case, you'd think there might be an alternative to life imprisonment -- say, a dress-makers apprenticeship?
