A 51-year-old carpenter was acquitted of indecent exposure in Oakland, California, after being caught naked while working on a renovation project. He was cited for similar activity in the past, and if found guilty he would have been forced to register as a sex offender

"I wanted to go to trial to prove that the charge could not stick, that it was an over-reaction," said Percy Honniball, the accused. "You don't expect to all of a sudden see somebody in the nude, but there was never a threat, never anyone in danger."

Honniball's lawyer added that the carpenter has learned his lesson. "He's not going to continue to work naked, at least not where he'll be in a public area."
