The cost of being gay

Is being called gay worth $1.5 million?

Two men, former roommates Ross Weil and Brett Royce, seem to think so. They have filed a lawsuit against Washington, D.C.'s American University and American Magazine for printing that the two non-gay men were married in June. The alumni magazine announcement also stated that non-gay Weil was the chief operating officer of the non-existent -- but supposedly very gay -- Gay Rights Brigade.

The magazine is being accused of gross negligence for not investigating the tip further, claiming they should have contacted the men before posting any information.

Their lawyer, likely non-gay, was quick to point out that the lawsuit "has nothing to do with homophobia." The thought never even crossed our minds!
