Iran's Ahmadinejad misunderstood

Mahmoud AhmadinejadPresident Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's aide is claiming that Middle Eastern leader was misquoted by the western media when they quoted him as claiming there were no gays in Iran.

It was widely reported that Ahmadinejad, speaking at New York's Columbia University last month, said, "in Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country. In Iran we don't have this phenomenon."

Mohammad Kalhor, the president's media adviser, contends we got it all wrong. Kalhour asserts that "What Ahmadinejad said was not a political answer. He said that, compared to American society, we don't have many homosexuals,"

Next we'll be hearing that the president's favorite movie was Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
