Anne Coulter's "remorse"

Ann CoulterVisitors to Ann Coulter's website got a little shock when they logged on for their daily dose of ugly. Seems the queen of all that is unholy has had some misgivings about her conservative rants -- against gays, against liberals, and even against women -- and has decided it was time to set the record straight.

I’ve been participating in a charade for nearly eleven years, now. Quite frankly, I’m sick of it. You have all been a part of a sick joke that I began considering shortly after first getting on the air. At first, it was quite interesting to see how people would react when I would use twisted logic and poorly masked bigotry.

But eleven years is a long time to be living a fake life, and I can no longer tolerate this falsity. Even someone as fake as I tires out eventually.

Seems April Fools Day came a little late this year, though. The note ended with a very interesting post script: "Haha, did it again. Oh, those silly web admins...they just embarrass themselves." So it turns out the "apology" was nothing more than the work of a mischievous hacker.

It's for the best, anyway. Coulter would grow bored if she had to use actual facts to make a point.
