The politician and the porn star

The latest political sex scandal involves a Republican, a porn star and sexy lingerie. 

Richard Curtis, a state representative from La Center, Washington, picked up escort Cody Castagna at the Hollywood Erotic Boutique in Spokane. The two spent the night together in a hotel room, but when Curtis woke the next morning his wallet, some dirty pictures, and the young man were gone.

Castagna later called Curtis and demanded $1,000 to keep their night's activities on the down low. He claimed Curtis owed him the money after the two engaged in unprotected sex. Later on he also revealed the politician had been "wearing long red women's stockings and black sequined lingerie" under his clothing when they met. Kinky!

Some of you may know Castagna from his work in adult videos. He has appeared in Treasure Island's "Damon Blow's America 3" and GAE Boy Video's "A Seattle Wet Summer" under the name Cody. 

Of course, none of this would have become public had Curtis not panicked. He called a friend with the Washington State Patrol because he feared local cops would "talk and it would get out to the press." Seems the "friend" then advised his supervisors, who in turn contacted the Spokane Police Department to carry out a full investigation.

And though Curtis has not been charged with anything illegal -- last we checked, wearing woman's clothing and sleeping with men was okay in Washington state -- he resigned, stating "events that have recently come to light have hurt a lot of people. I sincerely apologize for any pain my actions may have caused."

And now we bet you're wondering if Curtis had a role in any anti-gay legislation during his political career. Of course he did! In 2006, he fought a bill that would protect gays and lesbians from discrimination and in 2007 he voted against recognizing gay and lesbian domestic partnerships. Karma can be such a bitch.
