A costly exam?

Brian Persaud, construction worker, sues over rectal examBrian Persaud, 38, is mad as hell. In 2003, the New York City construction worker was hit on the head by a falling beam and was rushed to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital emergency room. Staffers evaluated his condition and insisted, to his surprise, on giving him a rectal exam.

He begged them not to do it, shouting that, "where I came from, you don't put anything in someone's a------!" He then struck a doctor. Staff quickly sedated Persaud with an injection and when he woke the next day he was handcuffed to a bed and the exam had been completed.

He is now suing the hospital for undisclosed damages. Even after he and his lawyer found out that the exam was essential to rule out any spinal damage from the accident, they plan to proceed with the lawsuit.

A spokesman for the hospital, Bryan Dotson, said, "While it would be inappropriate for us to comment on specifics of the case, we believe it is completely without merit and intend to contest it vigorously."

We think a nice dinner, some candelight, and a little foreplay could have made all the difference. When will you guys ever learn?
