Simple campaign challenges homophobia

Get Over It billboards in Britain to promote gay positive attitudesTitan Outdoor Advertising Ltd. has donated 600 billboards in England, Wales and Scotland to gay rights organization Stonewall. The group plans to use the space for a series of Public Service Announcements in their 'Education for All' campaign.

The program was initially established to combat homophobia and bullying in schools. The message "Some People Are Gay. Get Over It!" was handed out on posters, stickers and postcards in all 5,000 secondary schools across England. The campaign proved so successful it is being extended to the general public.

"It makes sense that this zero-tolerance message should be extended to the wider public," Ben Summerskill, Stonewall chief executive, explained to PinkNews.co.uk. "Across urban and rural Britain, this plain-speaking slogan will remind people that discrimination against gay men and lesbians is no longer acceptable."

Sounds like a good move to us...
