Survey says: parents are whacked

Survey shows parents find violence in videos games less offensive than sexualityAccording to a survey conducted by WhatTheyPlay.com (a gaming site for parents) mom and dad would rather kids play video games containing violence than games with sex or gay kissing.

The poll asked: “As a parent, which would you find most offensive in a video game?”

37% of respondents said they would be offended by a man and woman having sex. 27% thought two men kissing would be unacceptable. And 26% felt that a graphically severed head was just wrong.

A similar poll was then conducted on a Norwegian gaming site. The results?  66% of people said they’d be offended by the severed head but a man and woman having sex offended only 5%. Sadly, two men kissing in a video game still made 25% of Danish parents uncomfortable.

We wonder what the beheading of a gay man would rank.
