Kathy Griffin on trying to kiss Cooper's 'sardine'

The Parents Television Council took issue with Kathy Griffin's attempt to kiss Anderson Cooper's sardine during a live broadcast on New Year's Eve. “[Kathy Griffin] has shown increasing contempt for the audience through her obscene and unhinged behavior," it said. "The onus is now on CNN. Either the network has a policy that allows its on-air talent to fondle a co-anchor’s genitals, or it has a policy that forbids such conduct.”

Kathy Griffin appeared on David Letterman a few nights later and refused to apologize.
