Documentary looks at Uganda's anti-gay ways

God Loves Uganda, a documentary by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Roger Ross Williams, debuted at the Sundance Film Festival this past weekend.

The film examines the relationship between US Christian missionaries and intolerance in Uganda, the country currently considering a "Kill The Gays" bill.

"Uganda ministers have taken the American message and hiked it up to a fever pitch," Williams explained. "Pastors there throw anti-gay rallies, single mothers are marginalized, and abortion is illegal, even in cases of rape... Ugandan pastors are like American fundamentalist pastors on steroids."

Sad.
