Footballers deny appearing in gay-positive video

Footballers Brooks and SopoagaTwo San Francisco 49ers players have denied that they appeared in an 'It Gets Better' video.

Linebacker Ahmad Brooks (pictured, right) and defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga (left) both swore that they never made a video that supported gay rights. They were being  interviewed about their teammate Chris Culliver's recent anti-gay remarks when they made the claim.

The strange thing is, the video exists.

“I didn't make any video,” Brooks said. “This is America and if someone wants to be gay, they can be gay. It's their right. But I didn't make any video.”

“I think if I made a video, I'd remember it,” he added.

He was shown the It Gets Better video. “Oh, that. It was an anti-bullying video, not a gay [rights] video.”

His buddy Sopoaga proved even more dimwitted. When reminded that he had been in the video, he claimed he was being impersonated.

"I never went," he said. "And now someone is using my name."

It's not clear exactly how much informotion is provided to public figures when they are asked to appear in an It Gets Better ad, though the website clearly states the project "was created to show young LGBT people the levels of happiness, potential and positivity their lives will reach. " In any case, Dan Savage, a co-founder of the campaign, tweeted that the video has now been removed from the official ItGetsBetter.org website.

Football concussions are a much more serious problem than we've been led to believe!
