AIDS Health Foundation takes aim at Treasure Island Media

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), which successfully lobbied to make condom use mandatory on porn sets in the LA County area of California, has announced it will be filing a complaint with Cal/OSHA (California Division of Occupational Safety and Health) officials against infamous bareback studio Treasure Island Media Inc.

The AHF says it was the responsibility of Cal/OSHA to ensure safe working conditions for all employees. Because Treasure Island expects models to perform bareback in porn scenes, AHF argues the government must intervene to protect workers.

"Treasure Island has been quite vocal and outspoken in its opposition to condom use in the company's films," explained AHF in a press release. "This is why we are filing workplace health and safety complaints with Cal/OSHA: to press for the enforcement of existing state and local workplace regulatory guidelines which would require the use of condoms in their--and all--adult films produced in California."

"We are not just a company that is being attacked but instead a culture, a culture that believes that sex of [HIV-positive] men should be open, celebrated and embraced," Paul Morris, owner of Treasure Island Media, countered. "The efforts of the AHF are to hold onto the AIDS crisis and maintain fear and terror in order to maximize their monetization."

We're certainly no fans of Morris, but banning bareback porn is a pipe dream.
