Kid Rock suppresses porn vid

Kid Rock's lack of washboard abs and bubble butt means he may not be the ideal candidate for gay porn. But his penchant for booze, bass and babes, not to mention his celebrity cache, makes him the ideal personality for a straight, amateur porn flick. And he just so happens to have made one of his own, which a federal judge is helping keep private -- for the moment.

The film in question is a sex tape filmed nearly six years ago featuring Rock and Scott Stapp, former lead singer of Christian rock band Creed, engaging in sex acts with four young women. Adult studio Red Light District  recently announced that it had obtained the tapes, according to AVN Online, and intended to distribute them. The company posted a preview of the tapes on Feb. 14 on two websites -- www.kidrocksextape.com and www.scottssextape.com -- which it has since removed.

Why were the previews pulled? U.S. District Court Judge John Feikens threw a wrench into Red Light's plans Tuesday when he granted a temporary restraining order against the site barring it from showing any clips from the video.

The court order was signed just an hour after Rock's lawyers filed a lawsuit against Red Light and its president, David Joseph, according to the Detroit Free Press. The suit alleges that Joseph and his company, famous for its distribution of the Paris Hilton sex tape, are violating Rock's privacy and trademark rights and seeks to permanently bar them from distributing or selling the tape.

"We don't deny the authenticity of the tape," Rock's lawyer, William Horton, said. "But they're using this without his permission to drive the sales of their other products."

Maybe Rock should embrace his new role as an adult film star -- his movie could easily sell more than his latest CD release!
