We've all heard the stories of relative unknowns being discovered in the grocery store, on the beach, or just walking through the mall (though not usually in the food court). In Jason Baca's case, it involved a snoopy photo-lab technician who took a fancy to the young hunk's pictures. At least the technician wasn't creepy in a stalker kinda way, and offered to take photographs for Baca's portfolio.

With these new pictures in hand, Baca started publishing his images on the web. More photographers saw him, liked his look, and booked him. He was approached for jobs with Speedo, Hong Kong Silk, and Sketchers. But he had an even bigger prize in mind: Playgirl!

He's like your own "life size" Oscar!

"Well, it's a long story," he says, "but I'd always wanted to do a shoot for them. Someone actually had submitted photos that they had taken of me a long time ago and they took a liking to it."

And yes, men are expected to get it up for the magazine's photos. "Well it can be tricky if you think about it too much or feel you have to hurry. But they offered me a magazine to help out. They'd step out into the other room, and I'd holler when I was "ready" for them to take the photos."

Why is he pointing back up the stairs?

Baca details the whole experience in his first book, "Journey of a Male Model." It follows his goal of posing for the woman's erotic magazine, while offering other models practical advice on breaking into the industry. A second book, "Overexposed: Journey of a Male Model II" was released a few years later.

Sadly, a fansite reported that Jason retired from the industry this past July. Considering there have been no new updates on his official website, it would appear to be true. Why do the hotties always retire so young?
