Sean Penn plays gay

Sean Penn will play Harvey Milk in an upcoming biopic directed by Gus Van Sant.

Milk was an openly gay San Francisco politician assassinated in 1978. The murderer, Dan White, was given only 7 years in prison for the offense, leading to a major riot by the LGBT community at City Hall. The role of White will be played by Matt Damon.

Milk anticipated that he may be murdered while in office. He made several recordings to be released should he be killed, the most famous of which was "If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door."

One day, Harvey, closets will be nothing more than space for our shoes.
