JK Rowling outs major character

Dumbledore is gay!

That's right. A character from one of the best selling book series of all time, "Harry Potter," was outed by the books' author, J.K. Rowling. True, many men checking out BananaGuide may not know a "Harry Potter" from a hairy penis, but the news brings homosexuality even further into the mainstream. Rowling made the announcement at a recent reading at New York's Carnegie Hall.

"It's great that JK has said this. It shows that there's no limit to what gay and lesbian people can do, even being a wizard headmaster," a spokesman for gay rights group Stonewall said.

Peter Tatchell, a gay activist, applauded the news, though he felt the character should have been openly gay in the actual series. "...I am disappointed that she did not make Dumbledore's sexuality explicit in the Harry Potter book. Making it obvious would have sent a much more powerful message of understanding and acceptance."

Certain Christrian groups have argued Rowling's books promote pagan values. We're sure this most recent revelation will do absolutely nothing to change their minds.
